America Exchange Visit 2011

On Monday 17th October 2011, a group of 14 gymnasts and 6 coaches from Redcar Gymnastics Club will travel to America for 10 days. This visit has taken over a year to organise and book now and the coaches and gymnasts have been counting the days down on the whiteboard in gym.

During their trip of a lifetime they will train at Clarks Gymnastics Club, Easton, Maryland. This will be the 3rd visit that a group of RGC gymnasts have visited America and trained at Clarks Gymnastics Club.  The previous trips were in 1992 and 2005, have a look on their website www.clarksgymnastics.com to see the photos. For our members, there are images from 2005 in gallery 11 in the secure area.

The girls will also visit Washington, DC for a day and spend their last 3 days taking in the sights of New York before arriving back home in Redcar on Thursday 27th October.

They will hopefully update this page whilst they are away and more photos will be added on their return home.

Getting ready to go!!!

Have just been to the gym for our last coaching session, with Di,r, Di,s Carol and Marie and yes we were all excited, counting down the hours now, hope all you girlies are packed and ready to go have fun fun fun!!!!!!!!!! Imogen woke this morning shouting 1 more day are you excited and the answer is YES

Vanessa can not contain herself dont know how she is managing to concentrate on doing her gymnastics, well girlies see you tomorrow at Last its finally here, watch out Don we are coming to get you !!!! xxxxxx

They all arrived safe and sound, although very tired.  Having a fantastic time, fabulous house.

Trained yesterday (Tuesday 18th October) and off to Washington DC today (Wednesday 19th October) 

Well they were supposed to go to Washington yesterday (Wednesday 19th October), unfortunately the limo bus did not turn up, but here they are waiting for it!!!

So they went shopping instead and found a lovely Christmas shop

But they got to Washington today, well at least the coaches did (Thursday 20th October)

Think the gymnasts were too busy doing handstand hold competitions!!!!

And then it was time to move onto New York (Sunday 23rd October) for the final 3 days, dinner at Planet Hollywood on the first evening.

After a good nights sleep it was time to go and see the famous sights of New York, (Monday 24th October).  Do you think New York is ready for these coaches and gymnasts?? 

And then they were at the top wow what a fantastic view.

 What a long day they had 8:30am - 11pm (Monday 24th October), they managed to fit in lots of shopping as well as all the sightseeing. They saw Empire State Building, Ground Zero,  China Town, Brooklyn Bridge, Harlem, Disney store, M&M Store and lots more.

This morning (Tuesday 25th October) it was back to Planet Hollywood, but this time for breakfast pancakes, sounds delicious and then off to Madame Tussauds. The adventure continues!!!
