Alphafactor Invitational 2008The Alpha Factor Invitational competition was held at Wiltshire School of Gymnastics in Melksham on September 12th, 13th and 14th 2008. This is a national event for girls and has both individual and team medals up for grabs. A long way from home but very prestigious! Everyone was so excited this competition is so friendly, and the children fit into the event really well. Last year we were third as a team, so what would this year hold? It was hard to tell; with injuries and children having left the club perhaps it was wishful thinking? |

CHANGE TO TRAINING TIMES Due to some coaches and gymnasts attending the Alpha Factor National Competition next weekend there has been some changes to training times as follows:- Friday 13th September - there will be no class on this evening and therefore no charge. Saturday 14th September - Elite will train 9:30am - 11:30am only Saturday 14th September - there will be no afternoon trial session |

South Durham Summer Camp 2008We had kindly been invited to attend this Elite Camp at South Durham. I had hoped more would be able to go but we ended up with just 7, Elite RGC Gymnasts. The going is hard and the children are expected to try new moves, so no good for the faint hearted! Gymnasts from the Academy, Scotland, Essex and of course South Durham were all there, South Durham girls making us so very welcome , thank you to them. We have had great fun listening to all the childrens' stories (usually about their parents! he he) on the mini bus travelling each day. |

Redcar Gym Club Summer Camp 2008Once again, no matter how hard we all try to hope it's going to be cool, the more the Sun shines on our summer school week! it was so hot again, this year;goodness gracious it was too hot! It was lovely to welcome our friends from Kendal Gym Club again, and their Coach Danielle. Everyone settled in fine, we arranged the groups so everyone met the Kendal girls and were matched for ability. |

Top CoachLatest news is that DIane Richardson has passed her Senior Womens Artistic Exam. Thank you to everyone who has supported me, Thank you to all the gymnasts who have helped with the Practical and Nic and Rach at South Durham for all their unwavering support. Also to the coaches of RGC who have had to live with me during the time it has taken; sorry girls and boys, I was probably the biggest pain. Thank you everyone. Diane. |
