Redcar Sport For All Report 2011
Oh my Goodness; for once I have been able to watch our boys. Usually we have gym classes to take and I can’t go.
This competition is always one of the highlights of the year, mainly because the children doing it have never competed before. We always make a lot of fuss and this year saw no exception; the one main change was that we entered 25 children.
Two boys teams and three girls teams, the girls teams made up from gymnasts across the three squads, Floor and Vault, General Squad and Elite; umm it was going to be interesting.
The easiest way to make sure everyone had the right skills, and had the chance to work as a team was to train on the last two Saturday afternoons, together!!
The competition came around, boys up first looking smart. All were cheering each other along, all were looking neat. Brendan and Chris and their team had done a great job; they were confident, and did the job. With some great competition from Hartlepool and Biddick, our boys did really well.

As you can see by the results Redcar came in with all top places, what an achievement! Well done Boys, and to Oliver, bringing the Trophy home to Redcar for the second year in a row.
Oh my word; the girls had some work to do to match that! They didn’t disappoint, although I do feel some would have done better if they had tried harder in gym during the training sessions. All three squads came together to support each other and a big well done to everyone - I saw some great gym. A very big well done to Lucy Bailey and Milly Henry; both only doing gym for six months before the competition and getting in the medals. Milly Henry is our new Sport for All girls winner.
Wow! Three years in a row, and this year 2nd and 3rd place as well. I can’t believe we did it again.
Girls and boys, please keep your heads up and keep working. Grades competitions are coming up for some and the Floor and Vault for some.
Congratulations to the Teams also:
Boys Team A = 1st Place, Boys Team B = 3rd Place
Girls Team A = 1st Place, Girls Team B = 3rd Place
