Report from Regional Age Groups Level 4 26th September 2010
From the start this competition was going to prove to be a well contested one, this year there were some mega talented gymnasts, with amazing skills.
We only took our 2001 birthdays, Jessie, Hannah, Macey, Naomi and Chloe Jones; the girls had prepared well, and had full content so we were all pleased.
During warm up Beam seemed to make them stress with terrific splats off Beam from Hannah & Macey. Oh dear, I thought! Luckily the girls pulled themselves together and produced some nice routines.
Bars went well, with Jess and Hannah both competing their giants and backaways, Naomi getting a great score on bars; Macey just couldn’t get these giants around, but hey! She only got them over for the first time Monday before the competition, so she tried and that was great. Chloe Jones performed a clean bar routine.
Beam wasn’t as bad as I had thought it might be. A fall each; the warm up had fazed them, but great scores anyway.
Next up was the Vault. Poor Naomi had felt Ill and didn’t get to vault, but Macey dug in and did an amazing handspring, with Chloe popping nicely off the top with hers. Jess saved the day with a whopper of a tzuk! Stood up at last!
Floor was great, Naomi looked lovely and Chloe showed us the talent she is hiding! Hannah performed really well, with lovely spins and leaps, Jessie tumbled amazingly, and remembered her dance outs!
Well done 2001’s with a team SILVER, a great achievement, nice to have you all out as a team again.
Congrats to Jess; overall 6th, and Well done to Hannah Peggs; you needed 44 to go to Nationals, and you scored 46 even with a fall, so we are off to Guilford for the weekend of 5th November. So good LUCK HANNAH, you deserve it, you always give 110%.
