Grades Weekend 14th March 2010

I know I said it couldn’t get better, well it just did!!! Another day of amazing results. Redcar Rockets are certainly doing great this year,

This weekend saw the higher level grades; Club Grades 10, 11, & 9 and National Grades 8, 7, and 6 taking place.  We had girls also in Compulsory grade 4; the first time for the club.

With some apprehension and a bit fearful we started out, grades are so nerve racking as either most of the moves don’t suit the children or we wouldn’t  pick them for voluntary routines, but we can see the development side to them, and to the conditioning sets. The girls hate them, but I have to say they make gymnasts work at their flexibility.

We had a great day, a breath of relief as everyone passed; the Grade 11 girls had mostly tried hard, with some clean routines, the dance had paid off, and they all flowed around the floor. Some individual placings; well  done to Ellie Smith and Ashlee Knott on the podium, (check out results page).

Tyla took on grade 10, unfortunately on her own as we had no team to surround her, but good clean work and some lovely dance, bars were great, Tyla.

In the Grade 9 Lottie looked lovely on floor, but beam bit her  a few times a clear  pass, and your last comp. Well,  Lottie, you have given us years, and will still be in gym ,but  no more targets and no more flicks on beam!! I can hear you sigh! From  here.

Next up Macy and Hannah , Compulsory 4, well girlies you passed, with flying colours,!!!!, from tears to joy in one comp, so much stress ha ha.  Well done girls you have tried so hard I am so proud of you, both girls finished and went clean what more can I say!!! You also managed to score enough to take part in National Finals in your own right; well done, and good luck for the finals!!!

National Grades,  fantastic results here!! Vicky, Alice and Lauren will all represent the region at the end of April, all went clean, and looked lovely,  practicing all those ten` skills worked; you all stuck beam!! Fantastic , Alice won Grade 8, and Lauren H was 2nd grade 7 with Vicky coming in 4th overall.

Lauren also picked up a 2nd medal for her conditioning set!! Wooooo, Lauren you have worked so hard on range, well done.

All in all, amazing results from our girls across the squads, and  our little gym,  thanks to everyone and especially the fantastic dedicated coaches.
