General Gymnastics Apparatus Competition

Held 24th May 2009 at South Durham Gym Club.

250 Entries and a very, very long day!

Once again Redcar Gym Club boys and girls looked superb and did amazing gym, it is nice to see children achieving from our General Squad, and watch them pick up well deserved medals. The boys from Redcar Gym Club once again cleaned up with five medals, for five children; wow! Go the Redcar Gym Club boys.

The girls were spread across the whole day, starting out with the competition level girls. Bonus marks for Saltos (tucks) and different combinations saw once again the talent we have in the gym.  Competition level, under 10 saw Abbie Esplin in 3rd position and Naomi Hunt (01) take gold, you looked so good. Well done.

In the Under 12 section we saw Sammie Roe in 2nd place with Ashlee Knott in 1st place, and in the Under 14 section we saw Abbie Sullivan with gold and Quianna Johnson in 3rd place.. Clean and neat routines from all, nice to see you winning medals, girls.

A huge win for Kate Long; well done, a superb performance Kate.  A well earned third place for Hester Teasdale as well, RGC did very well.

Ashlee Knott was also awarded the trophy for the highest score throughout the day, marvellous as there were 250 children competing.

Well done to all, especially the coaches who worked hard to prepare these children.

Diane.
