In this section we have information about membership of our club. In the menu on the left you will find our current subscriptions, our policies and procedures and the club constitution. The club is managed by an executive committee of volunteers elected at an annual parents meeting and the link entitled 'Annual Parents Meeting' leads to the minutes from the most recent meeting.
We are a club affiliated to the British Gymnastics association, and all of our gymnasts, whatever their level, are BG members as are all of our coaches and volunteers. We charge an annual membership fee and subscriptions based on the group and number of sessions a gymnast attends. The annual membership fee consists of a small club membership fee together with membership of BG. The BG amount varies for different classes of gymnast, but we feel it is useful as it offers insurance to all of our gymnasts. The club fee and subscriptions are set annually by the executive committee at the lowest level we can in order for the club to continue successfully, as we pride ourselves on making gymnastics as accessible as we can. The BG fees are set nationally and as such are completely out of our hands.
The club aims to make gymnastics as safe and enjoyable for all of our young people as possible. To this end we have a ful set of club policies and procedures designed to safeguard everyone, gymnast, coach and family alike. Indeed, we were one of the first clubs in the North East to achieve the BG GymMark, charter mark of a well run club. We have a club welfare officer, and all coaches and volunteer are suitable trained and vetted. On joining, every parent and new gymnast should look at the policies and procedures to make sure they are aware of their content and know how to behave in the gym. As well as being displayed on the web site, these documents are displayed in the club and available in a folder to read.
If you have any questions about the club or how we work, you are welcome to contact any member of the committee or coaching staff, though please bear in mind coaches will be busy during training sessions. See the contact section of this site for phone or E-mail contacts for key staff.
